I want to write a post about our Children of the Earth. I just wanted to dedicate this post to them. Have you ever noticed how Children are? I saw this short video here the other day. Where the video showed the difference in Childrens conditions around the world, focusing on war and poverty as one condition, and the other side of it, the happiness and bliss that a Child can have in their Childhood. And what I saw was both devestating and Joyful at the same time. It showed the difference in Childhoods. Children playing games, hanging up swings, doing all of those core Childhood memories that we all want and have for the most of it. The Joyful thing to see in this video was, that at the poverty and war side of the both conditions, the Children were doing the exact same thing. Only in worse conditions. So its pretty amazing how strong Children can be.
But what can we actually do, for the Children of today? For the Children of those conditions that are of poverty and war. There are many orginazations that are on this type of dilemma. UNICEF, Save the Children and World Vision, are some that came up when I googled Childrens organizations. Those are world known organizations that are focusing on the Children all around the World.
Some webpages worth checking out to get up to date on Childrens organizations is Convoy of Hope, Goodera, Lev LaLev, Human Rights Careers, Charity Navigator and Impactful Ninja. They all have complete lists of different organizations for Children. And I will be listing the links at the bottom of this page. But before I do that I want to write a bit about the most known ones.
UNICEF
UNICEF is the worlds biggest help organization known today. They were founded in the 11th of december 1946, to help aid the Children left after the European war that ended a couple of years before. The plan was to end the organization after the aid was done. But there were still many contries in need, so the organization was expanded to be able to reach the rest of the world. Save the Children
Save the Children is one of the leading world organizations for Children around the world. The founder, Eglantyne Jebb, was the first person to say, that Children are people, not the possessions of adults. And by that, saying that they deserve to have their own fundamental rights. She drafted the historic Geneva Declaration of the rights of the Child, and invited the Assembly of the League of Nations to be "guided by its principles in the work of Child welfare" in 1924. Save the Children¨s work is still guided by childrens rights today. World Vision
Foundation of World Vision was founded in the 1050¨s. Three years after Bob Pierce found an abandone Child, and chose to not look away, he did it. He decided that the last 5 dollars he had in his pocket was not enough. And involved more people for a long term impact with a broader reach. It was started in the state of Oregon. Today World Vision the largest Christian international non governmental organisation. They focus on Child protection, clean water and sanitation, education, health and nutrition and livelihoods. They help Children in the most dangerous places survive, recover and build a future. To donate or read more about this organization, you can click the link https://www.wvi.org/donate.
